🍄 Mushroom Foraging & Identification (August–October)
Step into the hidden world of fungi and discover how mushrooms shape, support, and signal the health of the forest around us. This hands-on workshop teaches you how to confidently identify wild mushrooms and forage with safety, respect, and ecological awareness.

Mushroom anatomy, and how each feature helps with accurate identification
Key identification skills for distinguishing species in the field
How to read the landscape, spotting the habitats where mushrooms thrive
Tree–fungus relationships, and why they matter for finding specific species
Edible and medicinal uses of select fungi, with a focus on safety and sustainability
🚶 What to Expect
This is an educational hike focused on learning the process of mushroom identification. We’ll explore the forest, observe a variety of species, and practice using visual features, habitat clues, and ecological context. A mushroom‑parts handout is included to support your learning during and after the workshop.
